| Leave the paved roads behind with the Scott Contessa Active 40, the perfect beginner's mountain bike for women who want to explore riding in the outdoors and off road. This model has a lightweight aluminium frame for very stable handling. Most of the šs bike's cables are hidden inside the frame, which protects them from dirt or precipitation. The bike has a saddle specifically designed for women, which will allow you to ride comfortably even on longer trips, and as women's shoulders are narrower than men's, Contessa models are fitted with narrower handlebars to ensure that you don't lose the comfort and enjoyment of riding. Front shock absorption is very important off-road, but not so much on tarmac or other smooth surfaces. For this reason, we have fitted a front &scaron eye with Lock/ Open lock function. Lock the šeye when riding on tarmac to make the bike stiffer and easier to ride, and unlock it when riding off-road to enjoy its smooth and soft functionality. So, unlocking/locking the eye helps you ride your bike as efficiently as possible in any gear.The Contessa Active 40 features a Shimano Altus shift group. The & Scaron Group is a common feature on mountain bikes in the & scaron price range and works confidently and reliably.
