With a wide 22-speed gear range, hydraulic disc brakes, and a bike that weighs just 8 kilograms, these top-notch components will guarantee the best riding conditions and performance in both leisure and racing. Eighty per cent of the work of building a frame is done with the right choice of materials. However, the remaining twenty percent requires the most effort. For this reason, the most advanced carbon fibres on the market have been selected and special tools, such as FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software, have been used to develop the lay-up plan for the carbon fibre; UsingEvo-Lap technology, the frame is modelled to optimise the surface area, pipe structures with different ply orientations are modelled, the results of different configurations are monitored and the stress distributions at different locations in the frame are checked. As a result of this detailed computer modelling, the carbon fibre layers are optimised in all parts of the frame. When the parts were assembled into the first prototypes, the result was a frame that is extremely light and compact, without sacrificing stiffness, comfort and impact resistance;
"Foil" has fully integrated wiring for both mechanical and electronic switching. Scott's engineers have achieved this without compromising shifting and braking quality or steering stiffness. And it's surprisingly easy for mechanics to change cables and maintain the bike;
