KMC offers specially designed tools for precisely measuring, shortening, opening and closing bicycle chains. This makes maintenance and assembly work a routine.
With the KMC chain reversing tool, you can quickly and easily shorten new chains to the required length. The correct chain length is essential for efficient, quiet and safe operation of your drivetrain.
Workshop experience? Great, but not necessary. Turn the tool handle counterclockwise until the rivet plunger is fully retracted and the chain holder is exposed. Place the chain on the holder and align the push-out rivet with the plunger exactly. Secure the chain with the adjustment wheel so that it does not slip. Turn the handle clockwise until the plunger reaches the chain rivet. Check alignment and continue turning until the rivet slowly pops out. Finally, loosen the handle, carefully remove the chain from the tool, and separate the chain parts.
The tool's rivet plunger is replaceable - easy to replace if worn. A spare rivet head is included in the kit.
