TREK Checkpoint+ SL 5 is an electric gravel bike built on a 500 Series OCLV carbon frame. What sets it apart from a regular Checkpoint is the TQ-HPR60 motor hidden in the down tube – the bike weighs only about 13.8 kg and from the side it barely looks electric at all.
The TQ motor is known for being quiet: its mechanism turns without gear noise, so all you hear is the tyres. Its 60 Nm of torque is enough for climbs and long loaded trips, and the 360 Wh battery is integrated into the frame. The frame's IsoSpeed decoupler takes the sting out of gravel roads.
The drivetrain is Shimano GRX with a 10-51T cassette, so the gear range is wide and steeper climbs do not force you off the bike.
