TREK Marlin 5 Gen 3 is a 29-inch mountain bike for riders who are out regularly and want more than an entry model. What separates it from the Marlin 4 is a fork with hydraulic lockout and a nine-speed Shimano CUES LINKGLIDE drivetrain.
Locking the fork keeps your effort from being lost on tarmac; release it in the woods and the full 100 mm of travel is back. The LINKGLIDE cassette is built so the teeth wear more slowly than on a standard one. Braking is by Shimano MT200 hydraulic discs with a 180 mm front rotor. The bike comes with Bontrager Connection aluminium rims.
